emporia’s Call for Care button, a black heart symbol, is located on the back of emporia mobile phones that can be pressed in case of an emergency. If the emporia emergency button is pressed for three seconds, the phone automatically notifies up to five preset numbers in succession. This ensures that the emergency call gets through and does not end up on an answering machine or in a voice mailbox.
Your mobile telephone number, or caller ID, is automatically presented to every line you call if the destination phone supports this feature. If you do not want your caller ID to be presented, you can restrict caller ID presentation by selecting the “CLIR” option in the “Settings” menu.
Also known as a docking station, the charge cradle, available with some emporia products, provides a convenient way to recharge your mobile phone. When you put the phone in its cradle, it recharges automatically and is always ready for use. Standing upright in the cradle, the mobile phone is clearly visible and has a dedicated place in the home, just like a landline phone, so it’s not as easy to misplace. emporia charge cradles offer the convenience of allowing hands-free use to make calls while the phone is charging. The charge cradle can be placed anywhere you have a power outlet; it can also be mounted on the wall.
You can decide which individual numbers should be saved for the emporia Call for Care function. Emergency contacts could include the number of a spouse, family member, neighbor, doctor or emergency services. When the emergency button is pressed, these five numbers are called automatically. If a call cannot be successfully placed to any of the five numbers, emergency services are dialed through “911.”
If you don’t want to forget an upcoming event, such as a birthday or an appointment, you can use the reminder function on your mobile phone. Simply enter the specific date and time and the cell phone will sound an alert tone when the date arrives. The alarm clock function works in the same way; set your preferred wake-up time and the phone will sound an alarm tone at that time.
When you can’t have your ringtone at full volume, you can set your mobile phone to vibrate to discreetly signal an incoming call. This ensures you never miss a call in loud surroundings or if your ringtone is low. You can enable a ringtone along with the vibration function or just use the vibration function on its own. This is especially suitable for individuals with impaired hearing.
